Goal-Keeping Saga...Over!
Transfer News - Karori Waterside Sealords
07-05-2008 - Grant Bundle

Sealord Transfer News reported on numerous occasions last season that there was an apparent lack of depth in the goalkeeping department. Scouts were sent by the Sealords management to search for someone who could remain fixed at the back for an entire Sealords season. With Chris Bolton and Alex Cartmell-Gollan returning over summer from overseas loan spells, Sealord management felt they had the perfect answer. However due to their loan contracts, both their agents require Bolton and Cartmell-Gollan to have positional changes which meant that for the 2008 season, Bolton and Cartmell-Gollan would not be suited to the goal.

The scouts then searched the Wellington region for suitable replacements and at one point Co-Captain Nathan Brown was once quoted as saying “Let’s put Paddy in goal!”

Fortunately for the Sealords management Patrick Drysdale was not used as a keeper and two high-quality goalkeepers were available on a free transfer. The Sealord management pounced, and secured Mark Curtis and Daniel White on season long contracts. Both players have adjusted perfectly to the Sealords family and continue to go from strength to strength. The Sealords have been blessed with two keepers, who are constantly putting pressure on one another for first team status.

When Sealords Transfer News approached Curtis about life as a Sealord, he said...

“I thought being part of a championship winning 1st XI Tawa College side was special, but from what I have experienced at Sealords it is on par and only four games in; it can only get better on our path to Capital 7 glory!”

Daniel White was also asked to comment and he simply stated “I live for Sealords, I’d die for Sealords”

Sealord supporters have also praised the move as no more than eight keepers were used last season.

Newby scores Newbie!
Pharlap and Girl
07-05-2008 - Grant Bundle

Over the last few years we have found that it is not uncommon practice for Sealords players to become affectionate with members of the opposite or same sex. But not often are all the Sealords witnesses to another Sealords public display of affection.

A newbie fresh out of high school, Chloe was a sitting duck to the charm and wit of a Sealords player. Defensive stalwart Tom Newby was quickly on the prowl, pushing Matthew Jones out of the way and using his muscular appearance and charisma to lure the youthful female into the clutches of his crutch.

It was not long until Chloe, who had been quoted saying- “I can’t wait for my boyfriend to get here,” had been ‘Sealorded’. This public display of affection was a little disturbing for the common observer, but a very pleasing sight for every Sealord player as the player fights the common problem of the drought.

Sealords Champions Once More!

'Sea-what? Sealords! Sea-what? Sealords!' This was the chant that echoed around the streets of Wellington on Saturday as the Sealords secured their second consecutive title. The Capital 8 champions secured their league win with a convincing 3-2 victory over a poorly disciplined Lower Hutt SG's side. 'Transfer News' approached various members of the Sealords squad to find out how they felt at being named the Champions of 2007.

This weeks leading goal scorer, Hamish Templeton said he felt it was a "Superb achievement becoming champions back to back two years in a row. The players and supporters alike all pulled through in an esteemed effort." Templeton also went on to say he thought it is the most competitive league in all of Wellington.

Last weeks leading goal scorer, Nathan Brown said he was "absolutely stoked, I always thought we could do it. To pull through at the final hurdle, all I can say is I'm just so proud to be a Sealord."

Controversial winger and part-time judge, Jonny Wild announced on his fan-site that "there was no doubt in my mind that with the captaincy of Grant and the talent of the team, that the mighty Sealords would always prevail."

Justice Wilds wing partner Matthew Jones could not be contacted for comment as he was shopping for new underwear but reports suggest he was heard yelling "Welcome to Wellington Mutha Fu*ka!" 'Transfer News' isn't entirely sure what that meant.

Meanwhile, Australian import Mitch Lees was ecstatic, "This is every players dream, I feel like Fraser ward with Patrick Drysdale and an onion..." It will be interesting to see if Lees shows up to the upcoming Sealord Championship party, more news on that story soon.

The Karori Waterside Sealords have had a roller-coaster season. From the 'Trouble at Training' incident to the "While you were sleeping" debacle. 'Transfer News' would like to thank the Sealords for an exciting season, but most of all, for keeping the ink on our pages.
'Transfer News' will keep you up to date with all the stories from the upcoming Sealords Championship Party.

While you were sleeping...

Patrick Drysdale has recently acquired the nickname Snorlax. Drysdale got this nickname for what 'Transfer News' likes to call AIS (Alcohol Induced Slumber).

'Transfer News' now has the exclusive on a story hot off the press that could rock the Sealords camp to its core. At a recent Sealord function; During a Drysdale AIS, a previously unnamed member of the team took advantage of the slumbering teammate. The media-ban on this event has been lifted and 'Transfer News' can now say the player was in-fact Fraser Mark Ward.

Team Captain Grant Bundle witnessed the event and the versatile midfielder said he "was horrified that he took advantage of the slumbering giant". When asked to explain what actually happened, bluntly and unwillingly he said "He groped his genital region!"

Shocked, 'Transfer News' went further and asked Drysdale what he thought once he discovered what had happened. "I felt dirty and abused" Drysdale also mentioned that "It brought back horrible memories of that time with the priest..."

'Transfer News' tried to get hold of Ward for comment but he hasn't been seen since leaving Petone Memorial early on Saturday. Sealords management were contacted for comment and replied "Its a delicate matter, all we can say is we look forward to Justice Wilds sentence at the next court session".

Guinness Absent from Training...Again!
Transfer News - Karori Waterside Sealords
20-07-2007

Sealords management, players, and fans alike are becoming increasingly worried with the attitude of strong dominant midfielder Edward Guinness. Sources close to 'Transfer News' say the midfielders absence at trainings have become more and more frequent.
'Transfer News' understands that on Tuesday evenings when the rest of the squad are training profusely at Kaiwharawhara Park, Guinness is often found in his Vivian Street bedroom, a room that some can only call 'Ed's chamber of secrets'. 'Transfer News' understands there are no posters of Zinedine Zidane in this room; all you see is little Hermione Granger.

Sealord and close friend of Guinness, Jonny Wild was approached outside his Vivian Street apartment..

"The elfish looking Sealord chose fantasy over reality once more"

Wild is referring to Ed's most recent excuse to not attend training, that being the recent release of a certain fantasy film none other than 'Harry Potter'.

Teammate Luke Cartmell-Gollan says "First it's on-line computer games, then Harry Potter, whats next an entire fantasy world with Fru!?"

Although the midfielder is showing some great form and putting in some top-notch performances of late, some will be asking whether this lack of training will finally catch up with him. 'Transfer News' will have more on this story as it develops.

Goal-Keeping Saga Continues
Transfer News - Karori Waterside Sealords
18-07-2007

The Sealords goalkeeping saga continues of late as yet another transfer deal falls through. Goalkeeper Jared Sewell was picked up by the Karori reserves last week after Sealords failed to sign him, his reasoning was the following...

"Goalkeepers for Sealords don't get to do anything!".

The 'Wonderwalls' have been linked with various goal keepers over the last few weeks as they look to replace veteran Chris Bolton. Sealords management have admitted they are looking at a few players but no-one has been confirmed yet. The likes of Josh Barley, Udit Suda, Zuke Marinkavic and Andrew Corliss have been linked with a move to the Nomadic Sealords.
It has also been rumoured that ex-Sealord Anthony Corry has been involved in talks with Sealords about a possible return from retirement after Asian import Fraser Ward recently yelled "Bring Back Corry" while speeding away from paparazzi in the bus lane near his Karori mansion.

Sealords management was asked about the signing of Andrew Corliss, they responded...

"Andrew is just a number of players were looking at"

'Transfer News' does know however that god-like forward Hamish Templeton may have a problem with Corliss signing for Sealords.

Meanwhile at a recent Sealord function, 'Transfer News' was able to wake utility Paddy Drysdale from what we could only assume was a alcohol induced slumber. We asked what he thought of the ongoing Goalkeeping saga.

"Management have clearly dropped the ball on this one. We should have had a replacement sorted long before Bolts and Mole left"

Drysdale was clearly upset and worried about the keeping issue because he admitted he may be called upon to don the gloves at some point.

'Transfer News' finally caught up with Mitch Lees at a Sealord training as he never seems to be seen at Sealord functions. He was asked his views on the issue and simply replied.

"If only we'd paid Mole more, perhaps he wouldn't have fallen out with Sealords Management and left us for Bratislava."

The Sealords squad seem to be a bit worried about the goalkeeping issue and Sealords Management released a statement to reassure them.

"We are doing our best to sign a goalkeeper as soon as possible. It is up to the players to carry on and continue the Sealords winning ways"

After Sealords were 'jewed' by Sewell, Management hope their next signing will "show us more loyalty and that they will remember that many are willing but few are chosen"

Sealords caught on Man-Date
Transfer News - Karori Waterside Sealords
16-07-2007

Speculation is rife in the Sealords camp after two key members of the Sealords squad were snapped on numerous occasions in what can only be called a 'Man Date'. In this 'Transfer News' exclusive, we are shocked to inform you that the players involved are inform Striker Nathan Brown and winger Matthew Jones.

When asked about the speculation, gangly winger Jones said "I can neither confirm nor deny".

These 'man dates' have involved dinners, coffees, DVDs and rendezvous at Queensgate (a popular Hoodrat hangout).

"Obviously some other members of the team are a bit jealous..." Brown joked at a recent press conference. "I know some of them are so whipped, that frankly im surprised they noticed."

One of the 'whipped' was asked what he thought and jokingly said he "...was glad to see two lonely men finally find happiness"

However the speculation had obviously got to Jones as he decided to remind the press gallery how straight he is. An angry Jones stood up and yelled "I have a strong preference for young hoodrat..." before storming out of the post-match press conference.

Tempo loses Temper!
Hamish 'Temperton'
25-06-2007

Reports from the Sealords camp are suggesting there was a nasty incident at a very public Sealords function Saturday night. Star forward Hamish Templeton reportedly received a ‘beating’ by the whole Sealords squad, after what Justice Wild called an ‘animalistic’ occurrence.

“The guy was obviously on something...”

Wild also went on to say “I saw Fraser slip something in his drink and he was like an animal after that…”

A media friendly Wild stated furthermore that “he had the beating the team gave him with wrestling moves coming. He was asked specifically not to dump ice on the floor…and he did”

The slippery winger also said that Templeton’s strike partner Nathan Brown had to intervene on another occasion.

“I did have to intervene” Brown said.

“The guy certainly knows how to drink, but groping other teammates in such a fashion just isn’t on”.

When the fiery forward was asked about the incidents and he simply said…

“(Ha-ha) I was wondering where all my bruises came from, ya bast*rds!”

'Transfer News' understands there were plenty more incidents throughout the star-stuck evening and will report them as soon as more details arise.

Lugsy to sign for Sealords?

July move for Sewell?
11-06-2007

Goalkeeper Jared Sewell (who has been likened to Blackburn great Brad Friedel) continues to be strongly linked with the Karori Waterside Sealords.

Team Captain Grant Bundle says "Jared is a great player and I would love to see him play in black and white".

Although some media reports suggest there is a rift between star Centre Forward Hamish Templeton and the physical Goalkeeper, the move is all but confirmed as long as he passes his upcoming medical.

"Sealords are a great team, with players such as Johnny Holmes, Patrick Drysdale, Matthew Jones and Ed Guinness, just to name a few.."

"...Who wouldn't want to play for them!!"

Jared looks as though he will complete his move in the July transfer window and replace Sealord great Christopher Bolton as he is all but set to retire from Sealord football and move to Japan.

Sealords to get rid of their Mole?

Mole to pursue other interests...

Alex Cartmell Gollan is set to leave the Karori Waterside Sealords. Sealords management confirmed on 'SealordTV' last night that "Alex is leaving us in July".

The youth fan club favourite last night stated his reasons for leaving the 'Wonderwalls'.

"I will always hold this team close to my heart.."

"...But its time to move on and pursue my other interests"

At a press conference, Sealords utility Tom Newby explained how he feels about the loss of Cartmell Gollan.

"I think he is a tremendous player for the team and the team will miss him dearly, but this is football and we'll all have to move on so we can realise our Championship dream"

Alex Cartmell Gollan has been linked with various clubs in Poland. All vying for the versatile players signature.

Meanwhile, older brother Luke Cartmell Gollan says that it was a shock to hear that he will no longer be playing with his taller, but younger brother. "Yes I will miss him, but I don't think he has played his last game for the Sealords just yet..."

Trouble at Training?

Happier Times
12-Jun-07

Reports from the Sealords camp are suggesting that there has been a fallout between Left Back convert Fraser Ward and pacey winger Matthew Jones. An unknown source has stated that Matthew Jones, a normally placid player, had blatantly attacked Ward out of nowhere during a training a few nights ago.

'Transfer News' asked Jones about the incident and he responded.

"No matter what I say, you guys wont believe me."

When asked what actually happened he stated..

"Nothing, its BullSh*t" Jones also said that Ward should "Man up"

Jones told 'Transfer News' that he is adamant he had done nothing wrong..

Fraser Ward however said he would just like to move on from the matter

"Yes I was pissed off at Joey. But I'm over it"

When asked how he responded to the attack Fraser was reluctant to give details but mentioned he "did kick him lightly in the head"

Sealords management have refused to comment on the matter.

Half time oranges; not so sweet

Transfer News - Karori Waterside Sealords

At a recent press conference. Sealords winger Matthew Jones wasn't answering questions about the two goals he scored against Wellington United on Saturday, instead he was talking about an incident that was on every one's lips.

When asked about the particular matter, Jones was quoted as saying...

"I think they would have kissed and made up by next week"

But what could Jones be talking about? What is the latest Sealords fiasco to hit the press?

'Transfer News' is pleased to report the latest exclusive!

Reports from various sources have claimed that there was a 'fracas' between two members of the Sealords squad. Sealords management released a statement at the after match press conference...

"We cannot mention who was involved...We can say however, that whatever did happen was just heat of the moment between two team mates"

Out of form Striker, Nathan Brown was asked about the incident...

"I think that you guys will blow this situation out of proportion as per usual"

The angry man also said...

"... I would rather concentrate on my goal scoring form and chasing that cheeky prick Hamish Templeton!"

When Templeton was asked about the incident the powerhouse forward simply said "No comment"

'With nothing concrete released yet, the general public will have to wait for more on the incident. Transfer News' will have the information as soon as it released.

Key Men Missing!!
Captain Bundle one of two players missing!
22-6-2007

Karori Waterside Sealords are to be without two key men for this weekends clash against Lower Hutt. One of them is inspirational Captain Grant Bundle, he is missing from this weeks line-up due his brother leaving the country. The tenacious midfielder has been in form of late and playing some of his best football...

'Transfer News' asked Sealord Johnny Wild about the loss...

"We will be like the Nazi's without Hitler..."

Sealords Management confirmed on Tuesday that powerhouse forward Hamish Templeton will be donning the captains armband.

Johnny Wild also stated...

"...I have faith in Tempo but we will miss Bundy's inspirational words before the game"

At the after training press conference a belated Matthew Jones assured Sealords fans about the upcoming fixture...

"I'm sure Temps will fire us up"

The 'inform' Sealords defence has also taken a hit for this weekends game. Gritty wing back Jeremy Chan has been ruled out of this weekend's fixture due to a run in with a vehicle. A devastated Chan announced to reporters...

"I wont be playing this weekend"

Chan has been in the form of his life in recent weeks, picking up various awards including the coveted Sealords M.O.M twice.

'Transfer News' asked Welsh winger Matthew Jones about the loss...

"Devastating! He's been playing so well."

Jones went on to say that the rest of the team will just have to "step up"

Sealords management have admitted that although many players are waiting in the wings to play for the 'Wonderwalls' the Sealord motto echos loud and true "Many are willing, few are chosen"

Management also stated that although Lower Hutt's recent form and fluent attacking football has seen them rise through the Capital 8 table, if the team play at their best, they will triumph this weekend.
